Indulge in a weekend of book browsing amid the historic streetscape of Clunes.

Thousands of rare second-hand new, small press publications and collectable books on sale. Free Writers' Talks, street theatre, the Australia Fair Grand Concert Street Organ, wine, food, live music. A special Children's Booktown section and great opportunities to engage with the guest writers in small groups.

The Clunes Little Book of the Book

Collector's limited edition. 200 copies printed. Limited copies available.

Frank Moorhouse, Arnold Zable, Nigel Krauth, Anthony Lawrence and Stefan Laszczuk reflect on the book and its role in their journey as a writer.

Each book is individually numbered and signed by the five writers.

Margaret Simon on Crikey 21/04/10 wrote:"I have just been reading this slim volume in preparation, expecting (I must admit) that it would be worthy but predictable. How wrong and how foolish! This little book (it fits in my pocket) is a total delight."

The Clunes Ceramic Award

The winner of the 2011 Clunes Ceramic Award is Phil Elson for his work, In the Shadow of Gehry's Golden Fish. Phil Elson's work has been acquired by the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum for the Permanent Collection.

A High Commendation was presented to Irianna Kanellopoulou for her works Berry Boy and The General.

Emerging Artist's Awards were presented to Ruby Pilven for her work Confinement (Archive), Leanne Barbaro for Innner Peace and Cinda Stevens' for her work Floe.

The People's Choice Award winner is Sophy Blake for her work Conversations.

The Clunes Ceramic Award is an acquisition prize of $5,000 with the winning entry for 2012 becoming part of the Art Gallery of Ballarat's permanent collection. The works of the finalists will be exhibited in the historic village of Clunes at the Union Bank Arts Centre.
